Chapter 11 - The Sister Who Carried The Missing Truth

The woman stood in the doorway.
Nobody moved.
Elena stared at her.
She looked young.
Around the same age as Elena.
Same eyes.
Same necklace.
Same expression of someone who had spent years carrying a secret.
Adrian lowered his weapon.
Slowly.
"No."
The woman looked at him.
"Hello, Adrian."
His face changed.
Not fear.
Recognition.
Elena looked between them.
"You know her."
Adrian didn't answer.
The woman stepped into the room.
"I expected you to recognize me."
Her voice was calm.
Too calm.
After everything that had happened, Elena almost trusted that calm more than anyone else's panic.
Thomas looked at her.
His eyes filled with tears.
"Emma."
The woman's expression changed.
Only slightly.
But Elena saw it.
Pain.
"Don't call me that."
Thomas froze.
The woman looked at him.
"Not anymore."
Elena felt confused.
"Emma?"
Thomas nodded slowly.
"Her name."
The woman looked at Elena.
"My name is Emma Voss."
The room became silent.
Elena stared.
Voss.
Another Voss.
Another secret.
Another piece of a family she never knew existed.
"You are my sister."
The words came from Thomas.
Elena looked at him.
Then at Emma.
Emma nodded.
"Yes."
Elena couldn't speak.
For years, she had been alone.
An only child.
A girl with a missing father and a dead mother.
Now suddenly...
A father.
A mother.
A sister.
A family she never knew existed.
"Why didn't I know?"
Emma looked down.
"Because nobody wanted you to."
Elena looked at Thomas.
His face showed guilt.
"I was trying to protect both of you."
Emma laughed quietly.
A sad sound.
"You protected Elena."
Thomas looked at her.
"I protected you too."
"No."
Emma shook her head.
"You hid me."
The words hurt.
Elena noticed.
Thomas looked away.
"What happened to you?"
Emma looked at the floor.
"The same thing that happened to everyone."
A pause.
"Someone decided our lives were easier to control if we disappeared."
Adrian stepped forward.
"Who raised you?"
Emma looked at him.
"Daniel."
Everyone froze.
Elena felt cold.
"Daniel raised you?"
Emma nodded.
"He found me after the attack."
Adrian's face changed.
"Why?"
"Because he needed a Voss heir he could control."
The answer was terrifying.
Emma touched her necklace.
"But he failed."
Elena looked at her.
"Why?"
Emma looked directly at her.
"Because I remembered."
The room became quiet.
"Remembered what?"
Emma walked toward the table.
She placed the necklace beside Elena's.
They were identical.
Two keys.
Two pieces of something hidden.
"When Thomas and Isabella discovered the truth, they split the evidence."
Thomas looked at her.
"You weren't supposed to know."
"I wasn't supposed to remember."
Emma looked at him.
"But I did."
Adrian stared.
"What evidence?"
Emma looked at Elena.
"The evidence that Alexander Voss never built his empire alone."
Elena frowned.
"What does that mean?"
Emma answered:
"Someone else created it."
Marcus stepped closer.
"Who?"
Emma looked at the security screen.
The same hidden file appeared.
PROJECT MARLOWE.
"Daniel."
Adrian shook his head.
"No."
Emma looked at him.
"You still don't understand."
"Understand what?"
"Daniel wasn't trying to destroy the Voss family."
A pause.
"He was trying to save it."
Nobody spoke.
Adrian stared.
"You're defending him?"
"No."
Emma shook her head.
"I'm explaining him."
She looked at Elena.
"Daniel discovered something about Alexander."
Elena looked at the screen.
"My father."
Emma nodded.
"Alexander was not the beginning."
Thomas stepped forward.
"Enough."
Emma looked at him.
"No."
Her voice became stronger.
"She deserves everything."
Elena watched her.
"What did Alexander do?"
Emma hesitated.
Then:
"He built the empire using information stolen from another family."
Adrian frowned.
"What family?"
Emma looked at Elena.
"Yours."
Silence.
Elena felt confused.
"My family?"
Emma nodded.
"The Marlowes."
Thomas closed his eyes.
Elena turned.
"What?"
Emma continued.
"Thomas didn't know at first."
Thomas looked at her.
"But later, he discovered it."
Elena stared.
"Discovered what?"
Emma looked at Adrian.
"That Alexander Voss didn't choose Thomas as a partner."
A pause.
"He chose him because Thomas was the rightful owner of everything Alexander stole."
Nobody moved.
The room felt smaller.
Adrian looked at Thomas.
"You knew?"
Thomas looked broken.
"I found out too late."
Elena shook her head.
"So my father wasn't just protecting me."
"No."
Emma answered.
"He was protecting the truth."
The security alarm suddenly stopped.
Everyone looked at the screens.
The red warning disappeared.
Marcus checked.
"Someone disabled the system."
Adrian looked at Emma.
"You?"
She shook her head.
"No."
A message appeared.
One line.
Everyone saw it.
YOU HAVE ALL BEEN PLAYING THE WRONG GAME.
Elena felt a chill.
Another message appeared.
THE REAL OWNER IS COMING HOME.
Thomas stepped back.
"No."
Adrian noticed.
"What?"
Thomas stared at the screen.
Because he knew that message.
"Impossible."
Emma looked afraid for the first time.
"Who is it?"
Thomas didn't answer.
The screen turned black.
Then a video started.
A woman appeared.
Older.
Confident.
Everyone froze.
Elena recognized her.
Not from memory.
From the recording.
The woman who had been holding her as a baby.
Her mother.
Isabella.
But this time...
She wasn't alone.
Someone stood behind her.
A man.
Elena couldn't see his face.
Isabella looked into the camera.
And spoke.
"Elena."
Her voice shook.
"If you are seeing this..."
A pause.
"Then I failed to protect you."
Elena stepped closer.
"Mom..."
Isabella continued.
"I need you to know something."
The man behind her moved closer.
The camera shifted.
His face slowly appeared.
Adrian stopped breathing.
Marcus lowered his weapon.
Thomas whispered:
"No..."
Because the man standing beside Isabella...
Was the one person everyone believed had died before Elena was born.
May you like
And Isabella said his name.
"Alexander."
