Chapter 2 - The Setup
At the hospital, Emma is stabilized, but the nightmare is just beginning. Robert’s initial investigation into the "HOA violation" uncovers receipts proving Diana purchased the heavy-duty chain and brass lock three days prior. The incident was premeditated. Furthermore, a precinct buddy informs Robert that someone accessed the GPS logs of his cruiser from a restricted county database, timing Diana’s cruel stunt perfectly with his arrival. Robert realizes this is an orchestrated attack meant to provoke him into a violent, career-ending reaction.
