My son, after a recent promotion, insisted on gifting me a first-class ticket to visit him.

"You're sitting in my boyfriend's seat."
I reviewed my boarding pass.

"Oh, dear... I don't think so. My ticket says seat 2A, but if I've misunderstood something, I'd be happy to ask the flight attendant."
She rolled her eyes.
"Don't make this difficult. People like you don't belong up here anyway. My boyfriend and I want to sit together, so go back to economy and let us have the seats we actually deserve."
I was momentarily speechless.
