Julian stepped away from the table as Daniel Mercer entered the room.
Daniel was fifty-six, silver-haired, calm, and almost impossible to intimidate.
He had been my father's attorney for twenty-eight years.
More importantly, he had become mine.
Julian knew him.
That was why the color disappeared from his face.
“Daniel?”
